Dyna or vortex are the only 2 you want to even consider, i like the vortex but thats just me.

 

ok thanks il look at those two. I have the mods listed in my sig. is there anything i should get before the cdi box. or is the box pretty much the next step?

 

Fcr carb,higher compression,porting,valves i would do all of those before the ignition box. It should be one of the last items you should buy to increase performance.

 

i agree 100%.
with the mods you have now your power is falling off way before the stock rev limit, so if you add another 1000 rpm and rev it to that rpm you will be something like 10hp down from peak hp. plus in my testing i lost hp with a stock dyna.

A-arms, shocks, link, and axle. Those three will help the most IMO unless your just looking for straight line racing speed.

 

well i have a flat track out back of my house. but i trail ride also i just dont want it to be too wide. and me and my friends always drag race and they keep modding and well.... i dont want to lose

Most will tell you to keep your OEM box and just do the "Green Wire Mod".

 

There is no green wire mod for 04-05's

 

ok but if i go higher compression i have to get rid of the stock crank right? the motor that came on my R was 04 and the big on on the connecting rod bearing went out. i dont want that again. now i have an 05 motor

 

The stock crank will work fine with a high compression piston.

i agree with dyna or vortex. But Also agree with everyone else about it being one of the last upgrades u do. Also most of the aftermarket cdi boxes are actually worse than ur oem box!

 

the dyna non program is nice. had one. nice gains with matching parts to compliment it.

i have a programmable one now. have not had it programmed with a stock honda curve. but i am wanting to. and give it a try.

mine had better numbers under the rev limiter with the stock box. but i couldnt get the better peak with it. extra rpm's opens up alot more gearing options also.
